How to Reset FireStick Remotes

Amazon Fire TV has various versions and same as remotes. I have discussed every Fire TV remote from the basic edition to the latest versions. Here is the image of all FireStick Remote.

Basic Edition Remote

Step 1: Press and hold the Home button and press the Menu button three times

Step 2: Now Release the Home button

Step 3: Press the Menu button 9 times

Step 4: Take out the batteries from your remote

Step 5: Unplug your Fire TV and wait 1 minute

Step 6: Put the batteries back in your remote or put new batteries, and then plug in your Fire TV

Step 7: Once the Home screen appears, press and hold the Home button for 40 seconds

Step 8: Wait 60 seconds for setup to complete

Alexa Voice Remote (1st Generation)

1st Generation Alexa Voice Remote doesn’t have a power button or volume up/down buttons, So the steps are a little different here. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Unplug your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds

Step 2: Press and hold the Left button and Menu button at the same time. Hold them for 12 seconds

Step 3: Release the buttons and wait 5 seconds

Step 4: Remove the batteries from your remote

Step 5: Plugin your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds

Step 6: Put the batteries back in your remote

Step 7: Press the Home button on the remote

Step 8: Your remote should be paired now. If your remote hasn’t paired, press the Home button for 10 seconds

Alexa Voice Remote (with volume and power buttons)

This Generation of Alexa Voice Remote has both Volume and Power buttons so the procedure to reset this specific remote is a bit easier than the earlier ones. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: First Unplug your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds.

Step 2: Press and hold the Left button, Menu button, and Back button at the same time. Hold them for 12 seconds

Step 3: Now Release the buttons and wait 5 seconds

Step 4: Take out the batteries from your remote

Step 5: Now Plugin your Fire TV and wait 1 minute

Step 6: Replace or Put the batteries back in your remote

Step 7: Now Press the Home button

When the LED indicator blinks blue, your remote is paired successfully. If it’s not paired, press the Home button for 10 seconds.

Alexa Voice Remote Lite

Same as 1st Generation remote this remote also doesn’t have a power button or volume up/down buttons. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Turn Off and Unplug your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds

Step 2: Press and hold the Left button, Menu button, and Back button at the same time. Hold them for 12 seconds

Step 3: Now Release the buttons and wait 5 seconds

Step 4: Take out the batteries from your remote

Step 5: Now Plugin back your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds

Step 6: Replace or put the batteries back in your remote

Step 7: Now press the Home button on the remote

Fire TVAlexa Voice/ Smart TV/ Soundbar Remotes

The procedure for resetting the Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote, Smart TV remote, and Sound Bar remote is exactly the same. So you can apply the following method on any of these remotes. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Unplug your Fire TV to switch Off and wait 60 seconds.

Step 2: Press and hold the Left button, Menu button, and Back button simultaneously. Hold them for 12 seconds

Step 3: Now release the buttons and wait 5 seconds

Step 4: Take Out the batteries from your remote

Step 5: Plug back in your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds

Step 6: Replace or put the batteries back in your remote

Step 7: Now press the Home button on the remote
