In a groundbreaking move for the gaming industry, Amazon and Microsoft announced the integration of Xbox Cloud Gaming with Fire TV devices on 27 June 2024.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can now play their favorite Xbox games on two FireStick models— FireStick 4K Max (2nd Gen) and FireStick 4K (2nd Gen) — without using the Xbox console.
Easy to Set Up
To get started, FireStick users need to download the Xbox Game Pass from the Amazon App Store, sign in using their Microsoft account with the Game Pass Ultimate subscription, and connect a Bluetooth controller.
If you are not a subscriber, you can register for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate directly through the app. For Fortnite fans, there is even an option to play without paying a dime for a limited time.

Apart from Fortnite, Xbox Game Pass gives you access to hundreds of popular cloud-enabled games like Starfield, Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, Fallout Series, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.

The initial rollout of Xbox Cloud Gaming on Fire TV devices covers more than 25 countries, including big names such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Australia, Mexico, and Brazil.
Cost-Effective Solution
Previous efforts by Microsoft to launch a standalone Xbox streaming device were scrapped due to high costs. However, the integration with Amazon’s Fire TV leverages the existing infrastructure and offers a budget-friendly option to a broader audience.
